FLOWER
FARMER
Flower Farmers will spend majority of their days working in the field. Shifts begin early most days when harvesting is a priority. The job is physically demanding and very rewarding. The expectation of our farm workers will be to do a careful and yet efficient job.
Your efficiency and attention to detail will significantly contribute to the flow and profitability of our farm!
TASKS
- seeding into trays & direct seeding outdoors
- soil and plant bed preparation
- planting seedlings
- removing tired crops
- weeding
- staking and netting plants
- general garden clean up & maintenance
- washing buckets
- harvesting crops
- flower care
- tend to animals
NICE TO HAVES
- experience gardening, landscaping and/or farming (but not necessary)
- a passion for learning, growing/gardening, farm life & nature
WORK CONDITIONS & PERKS
- starting wage: $16.50/hour (more if experienced) There is potential to grow within company.
- position is available June through to the end of September (or August if needing to go back to school)
- 20-30 hours per week.
- shifts Mon-Tues-Wed and possibly Thursday
- complimentary flowers. Any time we have extra flowers that don't quite make the cut to sell to our customers.. you have first pick.
- opportunities to participate in workshops and spend time arranging flowers
APPLICANTS SHOULD
- be able to lift 50 pounds
- be able to stand for at least 3 hours at a time
