"We might think we are nurturing our garden, but of course it is our garden that is really nurturing us"

Jenny Uglow

It started with a little tomato plant

When I witnessed and experienced the love, care and satisfaction of growing something for our family.. I was smitten. MORE vegetables we grew.. until we couldn't possibly consume or giveaway any more! And then the thought came.. almost as spontaneous as a dream in the night.. What if we tried to grow a couple rows of flowers too? Yes. This was a good plan.

Days of planning, turned into weeks of seeding, tilling and planting.. which turned into months of beautiful flowers and a satisfaction beyond comprehension.

before flowers it was vegetables

TOP 6 things for your kids to grow

A post from the early days

and as the dream grew, so did the garden

and before long...

every story has a beginning

the humble

roadside stand

I'm pretty sure my flowers were severely under priced considering their fresh quality and yet we never sold many at our little road side stand! My friends and family received a lot of "free" flowers and our home often looked like a funeral home. But we knew in our hearts that we were on to something! We just had to find our place in this big world of flowers.

It wasn't long before this whole flower venture became a family affair!
