THE

AUGUST TREE

ATELIER

August Tree is a mother and daughter floral atelier rooted in gardens, seasonality, and thoughtful design.

From our heritage farm in Southern Ontario, we create wedding florals shaped by the changing landscape around us — combining garden-grown ingredients, gathered branches, and an old world approach to floral artistry.

The Heart of august Tree

August Tree began from a shared love of growing flowers — first in the gardens, and slowly into the world of weddings and floral design. What started as a creative outlet quickly became something much deeper: a way of working with beauty, seasonality, and the changing landscape around us.

We are continually inspired by the garden itself — by the movement of branching stems, flowers opening naturally toward the light, and arrangements that feel gathered rather than overly constructed. Our designs are intentionally organic, allowing each ingredient to retain its natural shape, texture, and sense of movement.

The quietness of the process is something we deeply value. From seed to harvest, to the final styling of a wedding day, we believe there is meaning in creating slowly and thoughtfully. Every arrangement is shaped by hand with care, intention, and an emotional connection to the work itself.

Above all, we want our couples to feel something through their flowers. Not simply that they are beautiful, but that they feel personal, atmospheric, and deeply connected to the experience of the day itself — romantic florals that feel both luxurious and alive.

The Studio & Process

Much of the movement and texture found in our work begins long before a wedding day itself.

At August Tree, we grow a collection of specialty perennials, flowering shrubs, unique foliages, and seasonal ingredients chosen specifically for their natural character and ability to create atmosphere within our designs. Alongside the gardens, we also forage thoughtfully from the fields and forests surrounding our heritage property — gathering wild branches, native textures, dried grasses, and fleeting seasonal ingredients that bring a sense of place to our work.

Throughout the growing season, we continually shape our crop plans around the weddings we are creating, often growing specific varieties intended for individual couples and floral palettes. This connection between the land and the final designs allows each wedding to feel deeply seasonal, personal, and entirely one of a kind.

Our arrangements are created within our old world heritage barn studio — a quiet space of natural light, aged wood, crumbling stone, and gathered vessels. It is here that the flowers are given time to open naturally and each piece is designed slowly and intentionally, with movement, texture, and emotion at the forefront of the process.

Design philosophy

Our design approach is rooted in the belief that flowers should feel alive — expressive, seasonal, and deeply connected to the landscape they came from. We are continually drawn to movement, natural asymmetry, and arrangements that feel gathered from a garden rather than overly perfected or heavily constructed.

Texture and seasonality guide every decision we make, allowing each floral piece to unfold with a sense of softness, atmosphere, and quiet restraint. We are less inspired by rigid symmetry and excess, and more interested in creating florals that feel emotional, layered, and effortlessly romantic.

Above all, we believe flowers have the ability to shape the feeling of a wedding day itself. Through thoughtful details, natural movement, and intentional design, we hope to create an experience that feels both luxurious and deeply personal — florals that become part of the story and memory of the celebration.
